Acupuncture in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire

Five Element acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine whereby hair-fine needles are inserted just below the skin into specific points along natural energy channels to restore health. As well as improvements in physical symptoms, such as migraine or chronic back pain, patients commonly report feeling revitalised, more positive and relaxed.

I consulted Rachel because of the sudden onset of migraines, these migraines were extremely painful and I also suffered from vomiting, not only was this unpleasant but also had a serious effect on my personal and working life.

I have always suffered from headaches due to neck and shoulder pain.  Most days I would wake with a headache.

Rachel puts you totally at ease in a friendly, professional and relaxed way and most importantly she LISTENS! Any small thing that may be affecting your life can also affect your health and wellbeing. I feel I can talk to her about any health problem - not just my headaches.

I have been attending on a regular basis and have gone from strength to strength.  My migraines have more or less disappeared and even my "normal" headaches have gone.  If I overdo things with my neck and shoulder problem, which has improved also with treatment, the pain has been reduced very significantly and I also recover very much quicker.

I will certainly continue consulting Rachel for ANY problem that may arise in the future.

I am not scared of needles but can reassure anyone with a needle phobia that there is nothing whatsoever to be worried about and it really does not hurt!

Following four failed fertility attempts, a doctor mentioned the potential benefits of acupuncture.  I had a relatively open mind to alternate treatments, and thought I would try it.  I can say with some certainty, that it is the best decision I have ever made. Rachel’s approach is very professional, yet extremely supportive and encouraging.  She has the ability to empathise and advise in an entirely non-judgemental way, tailoring treatment and advice to the individual and their lifestyle. Rachel had also done additional training in the field of acupuncture and fertility, adding that extra dimension to the understanding.

The treatment itself was holistic, not just dealing with the physical, but the emotional aspects too.  I feel a new person, much more positive, fulfilled and able to cope with day to day challenges.  Friends, family and colleagues also noted the difference, noting additional energy and positivity in me day to day.

I am pleased to say that I was successful in my fifth attempt, and feel I owe much of this to Rachel and the outcomes of the acupuncture treatment.  I continue with the acupuncture as its benefits are something I now believe to be part of my personal well-being, and it’s helping with the pregnancy symptoms too!

Since my youngest daughter was around two years old I remember her finding eating really un-enjoyable. You would see Edie wincing with pain after a few mouthfuls of food to the point where she would try and avoid most large mealtimes. My GP sent her for various exploratory procedures and Edie was eventually diagnosed with acid reflux and put on medication to try and ease it. Unfortunately the medicine was not pleasant to take and didn't really cure the problem. Rachel was my next door neighbour at the time and I just happened to mention to her the problems Edie was having and how there didn't seem to be a solution. Rachel asked if I would like her to try using acupuncture on Edie to try and ease her pain. Rachel explained to me what the treatment would involve and reassured me that it would not make the symptoms any worse. On her first visit Rachel spoke to Edie for around 15 mins, talking to her about the pins that she would use and how they would work. Edie was made to feel very safe and I think Rachel made the whole experience sound really exciting so that Edie saw it as an adventure rather than something to be scared of. I have always been open to alternative medicine but I must admit I was sceptical about whether or not acupuncture would work. But within 3 sessions the pain and burning that Edie had been feeling since she was a toddler had all but gone and we were able to stop the medication. This has remained the case now for nearly 3 years. I don't know how it works but I like the way Edie once described her acupuncture, 'it's just like magic mummy'.

After the success of Edie's acupuncture, I would most certainly highly recommend Rachel. She is a really gentle, caring and honest person who made Edie and I feel very relaxed about a treatment we had no knowledge of.  Thank you Rachel.
